Darwin Clayton, the PAGB Insurance Brokers, have informed us that, with the deadline approaching, 487 clubs have renewed with around345 previously insured Clubs still outstanding. They issuedreminders to these clubs in early January and are awaitingresponses.
Although renewal date is the 1 February 2022, Darwin Clayton have also informed us that they can accept clubs onto the scheme up until 30 April 2022, but no later. After that, the Insurer (RSA) will
not allow any new or returning clubs to be bound onto the facility.

Please bear in mind that the Premiums paid within the scheme cover theperiod from 01 February each year to 31 January the followingyear. Therefore, if your Club is currently not meeting physically but plansto resume meeting later in the year, it should renew now in order to securecover for “member to member” next season and for activities outside yourclubroom. We believe these to be unique to the PAGB’s PLI policy

It is sad to report that Brian Cook died on the 27th July.

Brian & Elizabeth were members of Conwy Camera Club from 1999 Until they moved to Cumbria in 2017.

Brian served tirelessly as NWPA Treasurer for 8 years from 2006 – 2013.

An obituary can be found on Conwy’s website  https://conwycameraclub.com/brian-cook/

Brian Cook
Having just heard the news that Brian Cook has died I would just like to add my condolences to his family and friends.
I knew Brian mainly through his role as treasurer for the NWPA, a position he held when I came to be President of the Federation.
His wife, Liz, was also the Conwy delegate on the Executive at that time. Both were dedicated in their work for their club and the Federation. Brian was meticulous in his bookwork and spurned modern technology in favour of pen and pencil. Very old-fashioned in his approach with a somewhat conservative outlook he was none the less very loyal and extremely supportive of me. Even though he wished to retire from his position as treasurer, he volunteered to stay on during my term
when he realised there was no obvious candidate to replace him.

I was extremely grateful to him and will always remember both Brian and Liz with affection.

Shortly after giving up as treasurer, they sold up and moved away.
We often meet people and interact only briefly with some, but they can effectively be a positive influence on our life’s journey – for me, Brian was one such person.

Terry Mills, CPAGB, AWPF, Hon NWPA.
NWPA General Secretary.
